Steve Marks is a TQ Master© Certified Empowerment Coach, specializing in personal excellence, leadership development and career transitioning. He has been shaping lives and careers in the public safety field for over 35 years. Desiring to serve a larger community, Steve launched Mountain Peaks, LLC in January 2017. He now offers personal excellence and career growth coaching as well as leadership development training programs to individuals and groups across the country.
Steve began his career in emergency services in 1982 and has served in both operational and administrative capacities. He retired as an Assistant Fire Chief, serving through the years as a Fire-EMS Training Officer and as a municipal Emergency Manager. As adjunct faculty, he has taught various incident management and leadership development programs in the NC Community College System, the University of North Carolina in Charlotte, and the Emergency Management Institute in Maryland.
In addition to his work as an Empowerment Coach, Steve volunteers with the American Red Cross and serves in Christian Education at First Presbyterian Church in Boone. His interests include Amateur Radio and Meteorology as well as spending time enjoying nature’s beauty in the mountains of North Carolina. Steve holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Guilford College, a Graduate Certificate from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master’s Degree from Jacksonville State University.
